Earlier this week, Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart was “Provisionally Suspended” by W.A.D.A. and the F.I.M. for failing a drug test at the 2014 Seattle Supercross due to amphetamines being in his system. Because the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship is not sanctioned by the F.I.M., James is permitted to compete in today’s 2014 Tennessee National at Muddy Creek Raceway, but more penalties could be on the way.

This morning, James released a quick statement about the failed drug test to the media. You can check out what James Stewart had to say in the statement below. Click here to view James’ results at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee.

Recently the media has focused on my WADA test results. The results are from a test after a recent supercross race. I had been taking a very common prescription medication under doctors care since late 2012. Doctors prescribed medicine for me with an attention issue I suffer from. I am working with the various racing and organizing bodies to resolve this issue. I am fully cooperating with the best care for my medical condition as well as what’s best for motocross. Additionally, I want to be cleared to race supercross as quickly as possible. This process has run its course according to FIM rules. Until the FIM makes its decision please understand that I will not be commenting about this issue.
