Tonight, during the first 450SX Semi Qualifier at the 2015 Detroit Supercross, Tedder Racing’s Jake Weimer made a small mistake through the rhythm section, and Honda Racing’s Trey Canard landed right on Jake’s Kawasaki. Both riders hit the ground with massive force, and with the red flag waving, neither moved from where they landed for quite some time. After about a 15 minute delay in the program, Jake and Trey were both carted off track by the Asterisk Mobile Medical Crew with slings on their arms and Jake also bleeding from his chin.

You can watch video of the crash below:

After leaving the track, Jake was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation while Trey was X-Rayed at the track at the Asterisk Mobile Medical Center. We have not gotten any confirmation yet but are hearing that Trey Canard has a fractured left arm. There have not been any updates on Jake yet. We will update you on both riders when we hear more. Jake and Trey are two of the most loved riders in the sport and both have had way more than their share of setbacks. Hopefully, they will heal up quickly and get back after it soon.

*Update: It’s now looking like both Jake and Trey broke their arms in their Detroit SX crash. For Jake, we are hearing he broke his upper right arm and for Trey, we are hearing it’s his lower left arm. Still nothing official on the extent of the breaks/fractures or any word on any other injuries. With the timing of their injuries, this will likely not only end their SX campaigns , but also hurt their outdoor Motocross Championship hopes.

*Update: Earlier today, Trey Canard put out on his @TreyCanard Instagram account a cryptic message about his injury, having surgery to repair his broken radius and possibly even racing next weekend in St Louis. I’m not sure what to think, but I do think the tough Oklahoman should take some time off and prepare for outdoors. You can check out Trey’s Instagram post below.
