The 2015 East Rutherford Supercross and round fifteen of the 2015 Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship series, headed to East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium for the second time in the history of the sport. It was the second-straight year the series ventured to MetLife, but it was the first time the sport was ever featured live on network television. FOX Broadcasting television network was on hand, and because of that, the program was reworked to start at 3 pm local time. While the sun was shining and blocking the fireworks of opening ceremonies, the large crowd was treated to two great main events. In the 250SX class, Red Bull/KTM’s Marvin Musquin hunted down and passed GEICO/Honda’s Justin Bogle for the win, and in the 450SX class, GEICO/Honda’s Eli Tomac caught and passed Honda Racing’s Cole Seely—who led 13 laps—for the 450SX main event win. Marvin’s win secured the Frenchman his first-ever Eastern Regional 250SX Championship.

In the battle for fastest 450SX lap at the East Rutherford SX, it was Red Bull/KTM’s Ryan Dungey (53.885) finishing on top. The #5 scored the fastest lap on six while trying to keep pace with Tomac and catch Seely, who had built a sizable lead sprinting in the beginning of the main event. Tomac had the second fastest lap (53.976), but his speed was matched by consistency. In the end, Tomac’s average lap-time of 55.384 on the rutted, technical circuit pushed him to a twelve-second win over the 2015 450SX Champion. The third fastest 450SX lap on the day (54.305) was clocked by the third place finisher, Seely.

As for who was the overall fastest rider in East Rutherford, that title went to a 250SX rider. Red Bull/KTM’s Marvin Musquin is a technician in the ruts and he used those skills to clock a 53.806 while catching Justin Bogle in the main event. Justin had some solid speed in the main, but his 54.427 was not enough to keep the Frenchman at bay. Both Marvin and Justin were on another level from the rest of the 250SX field in East Rutherford and made it clear with the 1st and 5th overall fastest times that they’re ready for the 450SX class in 2016. The third fastest 250SX time was laid down by the fourth place finisher, Star Racing/Yamalube/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin. After Las Vegas this Saturday night, Jeremy will remove the #6 from his Yamaha and replace it with the #1 for the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
