Today was the 2015 Genova Supercross in Genova, Italy. In the SX1 class, American Star Racing/Yamaha pilot Cooper Webb took the overall win with a 2nd in the first main event and a 1st place finish in main event two. Webb was joined on the box by RCH/Suzuki’s Broc Tickle (3-3) in 2nd and GEICO/Honda’s Justin Bogle (6-2) in 3rd. BTO/KTM’s Justin Brayton was the fastest rider all night and dominated main event number one, but a bad start and a crash led to an 11th in main event number two. Like Rambo though, Justin will be back! Wait, that was from Arnold in the Terminator.
In the Lites Class, the young German prodigy Brian Hsu took the win in the main event. The German Suzuki rider has an endless natural talent and I hope to see him in Monster Energy Supercross at some point in his career. Joining Hsu on the Lites podium was Nick Kouwenberg in 2nd and Francesco Muratori in 3rd.
After the SX1 and Lites main events were completed, the top ten riders from SX1 and the top five riders from the Lites class lined up for the combined Superfinal. In the Superfinal, Justin Brayton redeemed himself with a dominant win after throwing away the SX1 overall win with a crash in main event two. Brayton Webb battled with Dylan Ferrandis for second place before both crashed off the podium. In the end, it was the Frenchman Cedric Soubeyras finishing 2nd and the Swiss rider Valentin Guillod finishing 3rd in the Superfinal.
