I don't think anyone in the world can get through a set of SX whoops faster than Kyle partridge. If he chooses to, Kyle could make a living teaching the best riders in the world how to go faster through a SX whoop section.Photo by: Hoppenworld

Kyle Partridge has always been one of the most naturally gifted riders in the sport of Supercross and Motocross. With Kyle, though, injuries have overshadowed his God-gifted talents during his career, and it looks like this one—pardon the pun—is the one that broke the camel’s back. There was no official announcement yet, but it was well known that the long time journeyman privateer was getting another good shot at reaching his career goals with the Cycle Trader/Yamaha team for the 2016 season. Incredibly, before that shot was even public knowledge, Kyle crashed and broke his C6 and C7 vertebrae.

Yesterday, Kyle sent out an update on his condition via Instagram, and today a GoFundMe account was started to drum up some financial support for him. On the GoFundMe page, Kyle says he is stepping away from racing after he recovers and focusing on being a father to his son Landon. It’s really sad when you see unrealized talent like Kyle’s in this sport, but even worse is seeing an injury like this one take him out. We wish Kyle all the best in his recovery and post racing endeavors. Everyone should drop by his GoFundMe page and drop a couple bucks in his account. I know it’s an overused expression, but anything helps.

On November 14th, 2015 I was riding at Pala. I came over the top of a 40ft table top and landed in some very soft dirt resulting in my bike coming to a dead stop when I landed. This threw me over the bars. When I woke up, I hadn’t realized that my neck was what was messed up. As I thought I broke my shoulder blade. After a few catscans and MRI’s, I found out that I had yet again broken my neck. C6 and C7 vertebrae.

I have been around this sport my whole life and I know the love that comes along with this sport as a family. I have put my whole life into riding my motorcycle. As hard as it is for me to say, it is time for me to take a step away from racing and be a dad for my son, Landon. I have used up all of my good luck and I do not want to miss out on him growing into a young man. I have seen people come together and do some very cool things for people that are in my position.

I am not asking for a hand out, I am simply asking for the help of the community of Moto, freestyle, and any other action sports communities to come together and help me get through this tough time that will leave me at a financial state I may never be able to get out of… Anything helps and I appreciate everything that everyone has done over the last 25 years of my career, to get me to where I was a few days before this injury.
