The 2016 MXGP Motocross World Championships went to the Suphan Buri circuit for round two, and the 2016 MXGP of Thailand. In the MXGP class, Monster Energy / Yamaha’s Romain Febvre went 1-1 and took over the MXGP Championship lead. Romain took the red plate from HRC Racing’s Tim Gasjer—who finished 2nd—and was joined on the podium by the Monster Energy / Yamaha’s Jeremy VanHorebeek.

In the MX2 class, Red Bull / KTM’s Jefrrey Herlings kept his perfect season alive with his second-straight 1-1 sweep of 2016. Crossing the line in second, with his best ever finish, was Rockstar / Suzuki’s Jeremy Seewer and he was joined on the overall podium by Wilvo / Standing Construct / Yamaha rider Alexandr Tonko in 3rd.
