Scary moment at the 2016 Las Vegas SX. Photo by: Andrea Barnett

At the 2016 Las Vegas Supercross last weekend, Mother Nature hammered the circuit with torrential rainfall and hail, and with that, riders struggled lap-for-lap to keep their bikes right side up. One of the worst crashes of the night was that of Monster Energy / Pro Circuit / Kawasaki’s Chris Alldredge. I only caught the end as Chris flew over the side of the finish line jump in a spectacular crash.

I reached out to Chris today to get an update on his condition, and unfortunately the 2015 Hangtown National podium finisher will not be back at Hangtown for the opener of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. I sent Chris Andrea Barnett’s picture of him laying on the tough block and said, “This was scary.” Chris replied, “You should of been in my shoes when I was hitting the [team managers’] tower and falling.”

As far as the #35’s injuries, “we’re still trying to figure a few things out, and we won’t know until next week,” Chris said in a text message. “Right now, it’s a few fractures in my pelvis as well it has split a little.” With that, I’m not sure when we’ll see Chris back at the races, but it will be 4-6 weeks at the minimum.

We wish the sophomore pro a quick recovery and hope to see him back for the last half of the Nationals this season.
