Just the phrase broken pinkie in motocross makes you giggle inside a little when you hear it because of the massive injuries induced from motocross, but believe it or not it can be enough to end a riders season. It’s one of those bones you don’t realize how much you use it until you break it.

Yesterday, a rumor started over at VitalMX’s message board that HRC Honda’s Cole Seely broke his pinkie finger practicing and would go under the knife for surgery to repair the broken bone and today it was verified. The #14 was just starting to consistently finish inside the the top five of the 450MX class and recently moved up to third in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 450MX Championship, but he now joins a fast growing list of 450MX riders out injured.

Cole joins his teammate Trey Canard, as well as, Ryan Dungey, Jason Anderson, Josh Grant and James Stewart on the 450MX injury list. There’s no word on the timeline for Cole’s absence, but he will definitely miss Saturday’s RedBud National. We will update you more as soon as we get an official press release from the Honda squad. We hope to see Cole back on the gate soon.
