After finishing fourth in the opening moto of the 2016 Southwick National, GEICO / Honda’s Justin Bogle crashed in moto two while trying to get back to the front. The #19 grabbed his third-straight holeshot in moto two, but was taken out by Rockstar / Husqvarna’s Chistophe Pourcel in the second turn of the moto. Justin remounted in last and climbed all the way up back up to twelfth before going down hard later in the race.

Justin sent out an Instagram post today updating everyone on his condition and the Oklahoman will miss at least this weekend’s Spring Creek National. Check out Justin’s Instagram post below.

I wanted to let everyone know that I will not be racing Millville this weekend. Unfortunately the crash I had during the second moto at Southwick that sent me to the hospital is taking longer to recover from than expected. After resting this week and giving my body some time to recover, I was hoping that today I would be able to test myself a bit to see where I was at in hopes of racing Millville. However, it was quickly very clear that I’m just not in a position to race this weekend at the level needed. There is no reason for me to go ride at 75% and risk further injury, or to not give my sponsors and fans the performance that they deserve. After having my best result of the MX season in the first moto last week I was looking forward to one of my favorite tracks of the year for another good result and some more holeshots! Thanks to my sponsors and fans for the support. I hope to be back next week at Washougal but will take this recovery day by day. #team19 💕
