As the 2017 “Silly Season” goes into full speed ahead, more and more new team signings are getting confirmation. The press release has not hit our inbox yet, but Jordon Smith posted yesterday confirming that he will be aboard the Troy Lee Designs / Lucas Oil / Red Bull / KTM 250 in 2017.

No word on the length of his new contract but “Smitty” told his Instagram followers, “Pretty excited to be working with the TLD RED BULL KTM team for next year. Its a great atmosphere around the team so far and really excited to see what 2017 has in store for me! #44 doesn’t look to bad on an orange bike either!”

Up until late in the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, we thought Jordon was slated to stay on his GEICO / Honda, but we think Jessy Nelson’s unfortunate accident at Unadilla is what led the TLD squad to pick up another rider. You can check out Jordon’s Instagram post below.
