During the main event at round three of the Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship in Anaheim, HRC / Honda’s Ken Roczen ejected off a triple, hit the ground hard and did not move for quite some time. Kenny eventually got to his feet and was helped off track by the medics.

I talked with an HRC / Honda team rep after the race on Saturday evening, and the prognosis is not good. Kenny suffered a compound fracture of his lower left arm and a dislocated elbow. They thought he would most likely need to have surgery immediately. We were also told that they believed Kenny was conscious throughout the whole painful ordeal.

Hopefully all goes well with surgery and his lengthy recovery and we see the German back to 100% sooner than later. Honda went on to tell us that we would receive a press release when they know more.

Get well soon, Kenny.

Update from Kenny:

Update from Honda: After a less-than-desirable start in the main event, Roczen had quickly navigated through the pack and was sitting third behind Seely on lap 9, when he lost control through a rhythm section, separated from his bike in the air and went down hard, leaving him with a compound fracture of his left radius and a dislocated elbow and wrist. Roczen was transported to a local hospital for evaluation before flying to Colorado on Sunday morning to have his personal physician perform surgery. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
