450SX Class
- Back on Top: With his win in Arlington, Marvin Musquin became the first French rider to win a 450SX Class Main Event in 15 years, when David Vuillemin took his final win at Indianapolis in 2002.
- Flying Frenchman: Musquin became the 61st different winner in 450SX Class history and now holds the all-time record for laps led in a single event at 26, winning in a wire-to-wire effort.
- Return to Form: Jason Anderson claimed his first podium finish of the season in Arlington, ending a five-race hiatus. He’s the eighth different rider to land on the podium through six races in 2017.
- Valiant Effort: After his first start outside the top 10 in 42 races, Ryan Dungey fought his way past nine riders to narrowly miss the podium in fourth. It’s just his third non-podium result since the start of the 2015 season, 40 races ago.
- Hard Luck: The misfortune experienced by both Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac in Arlington dropped them from podium position to 14th and 15th-place finishes, respectively. It equaled Webb’s season-worst result, and Tomac’s first outside the top 10 in 13 races.
- Groundbreaking Pace: The 26 laps completed in Arlington set a Main Event record for the 450SX Class, surpassing the old mark of 24 set in San Diego. The longstanding 20-lap mark has been surpassed in five of the six races this season under the timed format.

- Going Streaking: Justin Hill’s fourth straight win is the most in the 250SX Class since Justin Barcia won four in a row during the 2012 season. It’s also the longest streak in either class since Ryan Villopoto won the final four races of the 2014 season.
- Man On a Mission: With his four wins in 2017, Hill has more than doubled his career win total of three entering the season. Those three victories were spread out over the course of three seasons (2014-2016).
- No Quit: Despite starting 12th in Arlington, Aaron Plessinger went on a tear through the field and passed nine riders en route to a podium result. His resiliency paid off, moving Plessinger from third to second in the championship standings.
- Crushing Loss: Shane McElrath appeared to be on his way to a third Main Event win in Arlington, and a return to the points lead, until a mysterious issue befell his bike a dropped him to last place. Instead he now faces a full-race deficit to the leader, 25 points.
