Just over a year ago, Monster Energy / Kawasaki’s Josh Grant was at home without a ride and pondering retirement, but the thirty year-old put together a one race privateer effort for the 2016 Daytona SX and he has parlayed that into a second chance career of sorts. After what we saw in Las Vegas on Saturday night, his second career may end up better than his first.

At the 2017 Las Vegas SX last weekend, the #33 was given a job by Kawasaki to help his teammate, Eli Tomac, win a championship by getting in between them and that is exactly what he did. After scoring two top five finishes in his last three main events, Josh stepped up at the finale big time when the team needed him.

In the end, Josh and Eli were not able to bring Kawasaki the 450SX championship but Josh was able to proudly stand on the 450SX podium for the first time since way back at the 2012 New Orleans SX. When the podium press conference was over, I talked to Josh about his ride in Vegas and more. We posted the written interview earlier in the week but for those that like listening more, click play on the audio below.
