The last time we saw Josh Hill on a Supercross track he had a big crash at the 2015 Daytona SX that sent him into retirement, but the 2008 Minneapolis SX winner is making a cameo appearance at this weekend’s 2018 Seattle SX as a fill in rider on the Monster Energy / Factory Yamaha Team. “We welcome back to Monster Energy athlete Josh Hill as he fills in for Justin Barcia and goes bLU cRU at Seattle SX,” a Yamaha rep announced from @yamahamotorusa on Instagram.

“Getting a call from Factory Yamaha to come race Seattle came as a total surprise to me,” Josh said. “I was just on my way home from winning the AMA National Snowbike Championship and was planning on racing Seattle on my own bike out of my own truck. Got a call from Keith Mccarty, asking me if I wanted to fill in for Justin Barcia and of course I was honored and shocked that they would think of me. It’s pretty surreal to come up out of retirement and get a call from Factory Yamaha to go racing. It’s even cooler that Factory Yamaha is where I started my career out in 2006 when I was 16 and to be doing it now, 12 years later, coming back to my home race in Seattle, is pretty exciting.”

We are pumped to know we are going to see Josh back at Century Link Field this weekend in front of his home Pacific Northwest fans. How will Josh do? That is anyones best guess, but with rain in the forecast and an injury riddled 450SX class, Josh could surprise a lot of people with a solid ride.
