With the main event at the 2018 Foxborough SX winding down, Eli Tomac passed Marvin Musquin for the lead just before the white flag. Then, with just a couple of turns to go, Marvin put an aggressive—probably dirty—block pass on Eli that took the #3 down. Marvin was held up momentarily because their bikes tangles, but he got away and scored the win. Eli got up and still crossed the line in 2nd place.

While some—especially Eli—will call this dirty, this was for the 450 main event win. “Just a cheap shot,” Eli said after the race. “I passed him straight up clean and he went way way past clean—that was bad. That was actually a joke. I’m not going to do anything stupid, but that was bad.”

Marvin said after the incident, “That’s for the win. I tried to get inside but if you look at the ground there were no ruts where he was going. He was making a line inside. All main event we were going in the rut. I was going to go inside and he cut realy tight. Either way, it was going to be a block pass. Maybe not that aggressive. It’s for a 450 AMA SX main event win.”
