With the situation that just happened last weekend in San Diego and a lot of dialogue beginning to open up, tensions seem to be running high in the Monster Energy Supercross pits and Forrest Butler—Team Owner at Butler Brothers Racing and the Rocky Mountain / ATV/MC / WPS / KTM team—let go on some of his true feelings after his rider Blake Baggett had a huge crash in the Minneapolis SX main event.

I’m sure with the crash essentially ending Blake’s and the team’s title hopes Forrest was heated, but he obviously had been holding in quite a bit before that happened. Forrest was a pretty fast racer in his day, so take in mind that he sees everything from more than just a team owner side of things.

You can hear Forrest Butler’s anger in his words below:

“Had another podium battle with 6 laps to go that was about to get real busy in the closing laps!! When the tracks are that easy and one lined, I as a team owner stand in the managers tower with a lump in my throat watching the run-a-way top group as I know every dang time the tracks are like this, one of them is going down or make a mistake – reason being it is the only way to make a pass. The weather crap from last week makes me sick to my stomach. Riders coming out the wood work smelling green. Most people involved with that now don’t even know what they are getting themselves into! While one week later we are back to a track that’s much more regular to the series, and much more dangerous – as the top 22 fastest 450 SX racers in the the world are about to drop the gate and sprint for 20 mins, and play follow the leader until one crashed…bad!

Sorry for the vent, just feel so bad for Blake Baggett for racing the perfect race, constantly playing it smart, smooth and speed to win. One little mistake with 6 laps to go, after 20 perfect ones just leaves me so fricken pissed. It’s racing, and racing is racing.”

You can watch the crash in Forrest’s Instagram post.
