Last weekend at the Daytona SX, Aaron Plessinger crashed and broke his heel and with that, the Monster Energy / Yamaha team reached out to veteran racer Josh Grant to talk about possibly peeling off the #7 and throwing the #33 onto AP’s vacant factory Yamaha.

The deal is not completely done yet and we don’t expect a press release to arrive in our inbox until early next week, but earlier this week JG was spotted out at Glen Helen getting acclimated to the 2019 Yamaha. The last time we saw JG on a Yamaha was back in 2014, so he is already semi-familiar with the characteristics of the blue bike.
