On Saturday night during the Seattle SX main event, Motoconcepts / Honda’s Justin Brayton was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was collected in a huge pileup with Chad Reed, Ryan Breece and Kyle Chisholm. Justin was literally tossed into the air and onto the concrete floor on the side of the track like a ragdoll. Last night Justin said, “Well that was a wild ride!! Thankfully I’m ok. Just very sore and a possible torn MCL/ACL in my left knee. I’ll get everything checked out tomorrow.”

Tomorrow has come and gone and the news must not have been good, because Motoconcepts just announced that Justin is sidelined for at least the next three rounds and that Ben Lamay got the call to fill-in. “Justin Brayton is sidelined with a knee injury following that crazy Seattle SX crash,” Motoconcepts said from Instagram. “Ben Lamay will fill in on the SmarTop/Bullfrog Spas/Motoconcepts/Honda Team for the next three rounds, effective this weekend at Houston.”

Ben has been in all but one main event in ’19. He is currently 19th in the points and among the top privateers in the class, so this ride could not have gone to a better candidate. We wish Ben luck with this opportunity and hope Justin can heal up and get back to work.

New Update from Justin Brayton: “After a long day in and out of doctors offices and an MRI, I’ve got a torn MCL and a sprained ACL,” Justin said from Instagram. “Neither will require surgery which is good but I’ll be off the bike for the next few weeks. My goal is to make it back for the last two rounds of supercross in East Rutherford and Las Vegas.”
