Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team’s Josh Grant Continues to Improve with Eighth-Place Finish

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team rider Josh Grant made the penultimate race of the year count with his best finish of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season in eighth, at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey tonight.

Grant continued his climb up the leaderboard, despite being faced with a difficult and constantly changing track. When the gate dropped, he settled into 12th but had his eyes on another top 10. When the riders came around for the halfway point, Grant had already moved into it. He used the entire race to make his move, saving it for the last lap to slide into eighth, scoring his best performance this season as a fill-in rider for Aaron Plessinger.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team will head to Las Vegas for the final round of the championship at Sam Boyd Stadium, Saturday, on May 4th.

Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team Manager

“Josh Grant continued to make progress this weekend. He used the week off to make some adjustments on the bike and that seemed to be a step in the right direction. At the race we continued to fine tune the Yamaha YZ450F and by the main event it was the best it had been all day. He got off to an adequate start and rode his way into the top 10 by the halfway point and eventually eighth place – a season best. He’s inching his way to get into the top five as we have the final round next weekend in Las Vegas.”

“I’m really stoked on how my night went. The track conditions were really difficult and made for some tough passing. All in all, I am happy with an eighth-place finish and looking forward to finishing off strong in Las Vegas.”
