Today the Troy Lee Designs / KTM team gave Wilson Todd a huge leg up for the next round or two. The Australian will likely fill in for the injured rookie Mitchell Falk for the next two rounds before needing to head back to Australia for their National series. “We are excited to announce that we will have Troy Lee Designs athlete Wilson Todd filling in this weekend for us at Fox Raceway for Round 2 of the Pro Motocross series,” the TLD team said from Instagram

“Over the moon to be able to go racing with the Troy Lee Designs race team this weekend,” Wilson Todd said from his Instagram account. “I’ve been given an opportunity to learn from such a professional team and can’t wait to make the most of it. Can’t thank them enough.”

Wilson went 15-9 at Hangtown for 12th overall on his privateer machine at Hangtown. I don’t think this is going to automatically make the Australian a podium contender at round two, but I do think it will put him more solidly inside the top 10 and maybe even near the top five if all goes well. The team only has Wilson slated for Fox Raceway this weekend, but with the Australian schedule, we suspect Wilson may head to Thunder Valley as well. It is too bad he has to go back to Australia so soon, but I think we will see more of him in the not so distant future racing full time in the US.
