Heading into today’s MXGP of France, HRC’s Tim Gasjer had some momentum coming off his first win on ’19 last weekend, but Red Bull / KTM’s Antonio Cairoli still had a semi-comfortable 31-point lead. Unfortunately for the red plate holder, Tim used that momentum today in France to score a perfect 50 points with a 1-1 day and, after finishing 2nd in moto one, Antonio’s crash and 17th place finish in moto 2 allowed the Slovenian to climb to within 11 points of the 9-time Champ.

With two wins in a row now, Gasjer is on the verge of taking control of this MXGP Championship if the #222 doesn’t slow his roll. One good thing for AC, his teammate Jeffrey Herlings is expected back at the next round in Russia. Will the return of the #84 help AC down the stretch, or give him even more to be frustrated about?

Check out Antonio’s crash from today in France below.
