Soon to be two-time World MX2 champion Jorge Prado will race the MXGP class at the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations. The Spanish team which will be Jorge Prado in MXGP, Carlos Campano in the Open class and Iker Larranaga in MX2 does have a strong look about it.

“This year will be my fourth year representing Spain,” Prado said. “I am super proud to do it, I will do my best. This year I am going to a new category and I think we can do it very well since in this circuit I have had very good results. We will try to take Spain to the top.”

My gut feeling is Prado is riding the 450 and is well prepared for this battle. He has told me twice this year he has ridden a 450 just one lap, but I can’t imagine a rider with so much talent and planning in his racing makes this decision without some time on the bigger bike. An Assen race debut on a 450 seems crazy.
