Check out some of the highlights from the moto world on Instagram from the last week.

The GEICO / Honda team has quite a few top amateurs making their way into the pro ranks over the next year, and Jo Shimoda is one that I think will definitely impress in 2020 SX. Check out a short clip of Jo preparing for his debut SX season.

Chad Reed is one of the only past champions in this sport that with a sponsor or without a sponsor, he will load up and head to the gate for the next race with whatever he and his wife can put together. It’s an admirable quality and one that Reedy will definitely be remembered for having.

Tyler Bowers asked the question, “What do you think about radios allowing 2-way communication between riders and teams?” from Instagram. If you have followed me over the years, I’ve been vocal about this being needed for a couple of reasons, so I am 100% behind it. I think it could definitely add an interesting new layer to the TV coverage and will greatly improve rider safety. For me, it was a “what took so damn long” moment when it was announced.

Not much I can say about Travis Pastrana’s helmet cam video on his 500cc two-stroke at Red Bull Straight Rhythm other than you need to turn the sound up and hang on for a wild ride.

Cooper Webb announced that he will be sitting out the Monster Energy Cup this weekend to fully focus on his 450SX title defense in ’20. While Looking at how good that #1 with red background looks on that KTM, it’s easy to see why he would want to keep it.

This week it was announced that Justin Bogle and Blake Baggett would make up the entire Rocky Mountain ATV/MC / KTM team roster for 2020. That, unfortunately, leaves Benny Bloss on the outside looking in. He’s one kid we really hope to see back on a factory bike soon.

While this has been common knowledge for a while now, it was officially announced yesterday that Dean Wilson signed a 1 year deal with Rockstar / Husqvarna for 2020. In the last couple of offseasons, Deano has spent most of his offseason time either healing from an injury and/or trying to put together a ride for the following season. It will be a nice change to see what the #15 can do 100% healthy and fully prepared for a 450 Supercross.

The 450 silly season was rather uneventful with none of the top tier riders swapping brands, but a handful of the factory 250 guys did change colors. RJ Hampshire was one of those riders. Check out RJ turning some laps on his new Rockstar / Husqvarna.

I have been hearing that Malcolm Stewart is showing next level speed at the test tracks this offseason. If he can keep it on two wheels, I’m going to predict he gets his first win and we see him on the podium multiple times.

Congrats to Justin Brayton on starting off another Australian SX title defense with another big win.
