Wow, what a time for everyone around the world and for the US, it is just getting started. While we all have big worries economically and personally to come to grips with when it comes to coronavirus and the craziness and precautions our government has been forced to take, like a lot of you, I was hoping we could all use Saturday’s and Monster Energy Supercross to escape and just be fans of some incredible racing for the day. That is beginning to look like an impossible dream now, though.

The Supercross racing has been nothing short of incredible in 2020, but with the Seattle SX already canceled, two or more venues rumored to have also canceled and Indy now being rumored to be a go but raced without spectators, the question now arises; will the 2020 Indianapolis SX be the last round of the year? As of this writing, we cannot answer that question, but it sure seems like that could possibly be the case unless something drastically changes in the next few weeks.

Just yesterday, the World Health Organization [WHO] declared the novel coronavirus [COVID-19] a global pandemic and the playing field for fighting this new virus immediately went up to a new level. The news of the day went from the WHO pandemic declaration to Seattle banning large events and the cancelation of the Seattle SX to the NBA suspending their season, Universities and public schools all over the nation sending students home and President Trump banning travel from Europe. Since then, many other cities have followed what Seattle did and banned large gatherings and we expect that will become a nationwide ban sometime soon.

With that being said, yes, I have a strong feeling that the Indianapolis SX could very well be the season finale for the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season. FELD has stated that they will try to make up any missed rounds later in the season, but the way things are playing out at the moment, I would think that is a longshot with what we are witnessing at the moment. Right now, for the good of the sport we all love so much, I think fans need to be patient with FELD and know that if they are owed money for tickets, I’m sure FELD will make everyone whole after we get through this time. At the moment, I feel we are fortunate that we have a billion-dollar company that owns this sport and has employees that have a genuine passion for it, or we could be in even more trouble.

As it sits, Eli Tomac leads Ken Roczen by three points heading into Indy this weekend, and Chase Sexton has a ten-point lead over Shane McElrath. I will post the points below. As I stated before, there is nothing official about Indy being the finale, but if it is, you can check out the three points chases below.
