I gotta be honest, I really have no clue what we watched today but with no other racing happening due to the Covid-19 pandemic at the moment, it was a good time watching nine retired rippers and legends of motocross and supercross having some fun on two wheels. The event featured Damon Bradshaw, Jeff Stanton, Jake Weimer, Kevin Windham, Broc Glover, Mike Alessi, Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Sipes, and Travis Pastrana and they were all impressive. Most importantly, they all looked like they had a blast and they all left relatively healthy. Ivan Tedesco was slated to race and was even at the rider’s round table event the night before, but he did not line up today due to not feeling well.

The best throwback racing of the day for me was Damon Bradshaw and Jeff Stanton lining up head-to-head. While 6-time got the better of the Beast from the East in their prime racing days, it was quickly apparent that Bradshaw has been riding a lot more than Stanton lately. Bradshaw handled the 6-time champ—winning all three of their matchups. I am not sure if this win quite avenged his loss to Stanton in the ’92 SX Championship, but it still had to feel good.

Another great matchup was K’dub vs. TP199. No matter how old Kevin Windham gets, he will always look like poetry in motion on a dirt bike while Travis Pastrana is always amazing on two wheels and knows how to have fun win or lose. In the end, Windham got the better of Pastrana, but as you will see in the video we are posting below, TP knows how to get the attention even in defeat. Travis also threw a backflip on the 35-year-old YZ490 two-stroke. His first attempt ended badly [see video below], but he landed it perfect on his attempt number two.

I am really not sure what the format was or how we even got to the final matchup, but in the final we race saw Mike Alessi, Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Sipes lined up for the championship belt. The #800 was the fastest rider of the day, and with an aggressive pass on RV, Alessi took home the inaugural winners Championship belt with RV and Sipes occupying the final two spots on the podium.
