At the first Salt Lake City round last Sunday, Monster Energy / Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo went down hard in the main event and was run over by Cooper Webb. Earlier in the week AC thought he would be good to go for today’s race, but after free-practice and one lap of qualifying, the #9 pulled out due to the lingering back pain from his crash on Sunday.

“Hey guys, unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to race tonight, ” Adam said moments ago. I’ve been crazy sore since my crash on Sunday. It’s my lower back and unfortunately, it’s not just my pain, it’s weakness. I can’t squeeze the bike and the impacts out there are really giving me a hard time. I thought I was going to be able to do it today, but it’s just not in the cards. I gotta make the smart play here and I don’t want to be a danger to myself or anyone out there. I’m going to have to sit this one out. I hope to be ready on Sunday, but I’ll update you guys as I have more information. I appreciate the support and thanks for sticking with me.”
