When HRC rider Tim Gajser clocked the quickest lap time of the morning session, you had a feeling he was on it. When he won the first race of the day, it was even clearer and when he pushed his front wheel up on Glenn Coldenhoff to take the lead in the second moto, you felt the GP win was just around the corner, but then it all went wrong and the defending MXGP champion was off the bike and rolling down the track.

Still, with a points gain in the championship points and his speed looking better than ever, he walked away from last Sunday’s MXGP opener with a bigger smile than anyone else in the paddock.
