Before Jeremy McGrath, there was a “Showtime” not many remember, Mike “Showtime” Bias! He grew up in West Virginia with the Coombs family, and they were promoting races back in the ’80s. Dave Coombs Sr. made great strides to give Motorcycle racing the attention it deserved. Sr. teamed up with the USHRA to bring Arenacross alive; he had motorcycles, quads, and three-wheelers racing inside Madison Square Garden. His star was Mike “Showtime” Bias, so much so that he became the focal point for a VHS video documenting the series. Mike was an inspiration for me as a kid, and I wondered about him, and why his career never went much further after the video, so I reached out, and our conversation was informative and fun!
