Max Anstie (#103) finishes 14th overall in the 450cc premiere class.

Max Anstie (#103) – In only his second race in the 450cc premiere class, Max Anstie looks to be catching his stride as he continues to show improvement each time he hits the track. In qualifying, Max was riding very fast and was close to knocking on the door of top 10 qualifying times before a nasty crash leading up to the finish that sent him over the bars. He was able to recover and continue racing. In his heat race, Max put a solid moto in from start to finish with an 8th place. In the main event, Max continued his steady performance with a 14th place finish.

“It’s always been a dream to race Daytona Supercross with the best guys in the world,” said Max Anstie. “The team and I made progress all day and we learned a lot. I rode my laps in the main event and came away with 14th. I’m looking forward to heading to Texas next week.”

Brandon Hartranft (#28) has a solid night of racing in Daytona.

Brandon Hartranft (#28) – The rookie Brandon Hartranft had himself a strong showing in Daytona finding his flow early in the day. In his heat race, Brandon jumped out to an impressive start coming around the first corner in second place. As the race continued, Hartranft raced very consistently each lap finishing in 9th place. In the main event, Hartranft continued his solid performance getting a strong jump off the gate before being pushed off the track in the first corner and forced to fight his way from the back. He had a steady first half of the race before he caught arm pump, he finished in 19th place.

“Today was a lot better for me then my previous races,” said Brandon Hartranft. “Gain some confidence back, had a good solid two weeks of riding building up to this round. Both practices, I went out first and that was a confidence booster. I have done well here in the past and I felt like I had a flow here all day. In my heat race start, I came around second off the start and was able to make it straight into the main. The main event was solid till about halfway when I got arm pump. I need to work on that and show up ready to go in Arlington.”

“It’s always a good experience to race in Daytona, it’s the World Center of Racing,” said Team Manager Dustin Pipes. “Everyone brings an extra level of pizazz from the truck driver all the way down to the riders. In terms of racing, we made some good steps. Max had a good day despite a nasty crash in qualifying. Straight from the heat with him after getting some solid laps down. Main event was good we are building each week and we know he is not at his peak yet and there is a lot of plusses to take away. Brandon rode well, he is starting to find his groove again and it shows when you watch him ride. Look for him to keep on growing these next few rounds. We are excited for the future.”

H.E.P. Motorsports heads to Arlington, Texas for rounds 10, 11, & 12 of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Schedule.
