After starting his 2021 Arlington 1 SX by qualifying with the fastest overall 450SX lap time of the day, Red Bull / KTM’s Marvin Musquin hit the ground hard while running 2nd in his 450SX heat race. We did not see the crash but when Marvin hit the ground there was no movement for about 20 seconds. It looked like the Frenchman hit his head pretty hard and took a little dirt nap in the bowl turn.
With the strict concussion protocol in Monster Energy Supercross, you are automatically pulled out of racing for the night when you knock yourself out, but we also heard that Marvin sustained a laceration in the crash that is requiring stitches.
There is no official word yet from the Red Bull / KTM team yet, but we will definitely update you all as soon as we hear more from Marv or his team.
