At last Saturday’s 2021 Houston 3 SX, Dean Wilson inserted himself into the 450SX Championship conversation in the worst way possible: not getting out of the way of the leaders when he was being lapped and possibly causing Ken Roczen his first win of ’21. Deano—being the class-act that he is—publicly apologized after the race on Instagram and was hoping to put the drama behind him with a great ride this weekend at the Indianapolis 1 SX, but his very next Instagram post is a pic of his overly inflated and discolored big toe.

“Well I’m no foot model but pretty sure it’s not suppose to look like this😭,” Deano stated about his disgusting looking appendage. “Unfortunately somehow got a neutral off a jump with 3 laps to go on Wednesday. I ejected off my bike landing on my feet cartwheeling. Ended up breaking my big toe, sprained ankle & got lucky with my knee after getting mri it’s just a contusion / bone bruising but had to get 165cc drained out of it. It’s Friday and im still at home, I originally wasn’t going to go to the race but I’m feeling a little better & will give it a go tomorrow. Thank you everyone that has my back. – Deano”

We all hope to see the #15 on the line this weekend but I would not count on it just yet. While Dean says he is going to give racing a try tomorrow, in my personal experience of trying to race with a broken toe, it is much easier said than done. It is one of those injuries where you think you are good to go, only to realize you are not during the first lap of practice.

You can check out Deano’s injury in his Instagram post below.
